Fencebay Smokehouse and Farm Shop

 Smokehouse and Farm shop, specialising in seafood, and selling a range of fresh and smoked fish and shellfish, as well as meat and game - and our home-made bread is famous throughout Ayrshire!  Lobsters, crabs, langoustines, mussels, oysters, salmon, trout, mackerel....we sell them all, as fresh as possible, as they are straight from the boats!

 Bernard Thain of Fencebay was voted   LOCAL FOOD HERO - SCOTLAND last year by satisfied customers coming third overall in the UK.  Voting took place for much of last year, and the final placings were judged by Gary Rhodes. The criteria for this award is a committment to quality, sustainability of the produce and use of local foods, all of which Fencebay believes in strongly. We have been in business for more than 20 years, and over this time have developed and improved our product range, which can be bought at our shop and at Farmers' Markets all over Scotland.

We have our own fishing boat, Pegasus, and catch our own crabs, lobsters,langoustines and mackerel in season. All the fish sold at Fencebay comes from sustainable sources, as much as possible from local boats fishing in the Clyde. Oysters are grown  just a fewhundred metres from Fencebay. The Farm shop sells a huge range of fresh fish and shellfish as well as smoked products and also fine wines to drink with them. Lobster and Chablis....what more could you want on a summer evening!

Our traditional smokehouse produces succulent smoked salmon, both hot- and cold-smoked. We also smoke chicken, duck and produce our ever popular smoked Ayrshire bacon!

 We can also prepare platters for your dinner party or barbeque.  Mixed platters, kebabs, dressed salmon and much more. Any of these can which can be made to your own requirements.

FARMERS' MARKETS

As well as attending many Farmers' Markets throughout Scotland, we also run our own market at Fencebay on the last Sunday of every month, from 10am - 3pm.  More than a dozen stallholders  attend, with local producers selling vegetables, strawberries and raspberries, lamb, beef, venison, rare breed pork and home baking amongst others.
